On Clay
YORKSHIRE
ON CLAY.
A show garden designed with only native planting that utilises localised clay soils and geology to create a space which prioritises the environment, ecology, habitat and re-use of materials for new property developments on brown field sites across Yorkshire and other similar geological and pedological sites in the UK.
Reorientated design and boundary editions made from common building materials, waste brick and processed wild clay excavated on site during construction activities.
Aimed at promoting a widespread shift towards more sustainable lower carbon practices in the landscaping and construction industry. Using local material production and processing, increased labour skills, craftsmanship and knowledge over imported products to design spaces that benefit people, animals and plants in a considered eco system.
Selected by RHS panel for RHS Wentworth Woodhouse.
